Tonight's beer: Green Flash Sea to Sea Lager
Pale bready sweetness, forcefully opposed by grassy-floral bitterness. A streak of caramel through the middle, maybe some flecks of citrus and/or pine on the perimeter; dries out so quickly as to be instant, as the bitterness reemerges.
Light-bodied, nicely carbonated. A trace of soft chewy stickiness, then rapidly and directly dries out pretty completely. Clean and cleansing, almost scrubbing.
A tasty and drinkable American pale lager, straightforward and clean. Nicely and precisely balanced, reasonably intense for 4% ABV. Obviously perfect as a summer (lawnmower) beer, but worth paying attention to on its own.
