Tonight's beer: Magic Hat Feast of Fools
Dark raspberries up front, closely backed by dark chocolate, dark bread, caramel, toast. Hints of coffee around the edges. Earthy-grassy-peaty bitterness emerges toward the finish, carries into gradually dry finish.
Kinda light-bodied for a stout—pretty much medium-bodied—and nicely carbonated. Fruity-juicy-tart pucker through the middle, evolving to cleansing and drying and potently refreshing.
A distinctly tasty fruity stout. Brewed and marketed as a Christmas beer, but perfect for a warm summer evening. Nicely intense and reasonably complex, probably dominated by the fruit but not one-dimensional, Remarkably drinkable.
