Southern Tier Pilsner

Tonight's beer: Southern Tier Pilsner

Southern Tier Pilsner

Opens with grassy bitterness, hints of flowers. Pale bread right behind. Interstitial possibilities of sulfur, pine, caramel, citrus, toast. Dries out practically instantly.

Light-bodied, with lots of carbonation. Clean and cleansing, scrubbing and almost scouring. Powerfully refreshing.

A pretty spot-on German Pils, appropriately linear and straightforward. Pretty intense for 5% ABV. Marvelously drinkable on a warm summer evening (even inside, with air conditioning). It's kinda nice to see a brewer that does some crazy stuff (and Southern Tier does some crazy stuff) throttle back to something so perfectly simple.
