Tonight's beer: RAR Nanticoke Nectar
Opens with a burst of floral-citrussy bitterness—grapefruit and lime, hints of orange; pine and grass around the edges. pale bread and caramel sweetness arise through the mile, maybe a grace note of toast. After a moment of pulpy-juiciness, the beer turns sternly and rapidly dry.
Solidly medium-bodied, decently carbonated. A bit of chewiness, thick smears of resinous-syrupy stickiness. Gently drying, massively cleansing and refreshing. Finishes mostly clean.
A tasty local-ish (same state, anyway) IPA. Impressively intense and complex, a lot like balanced (given the style), superbly well-integrated and gloriously drinkable. Graceful and supple and poised. These folks don't have lots of beers in distribution near me (at least in cans), at this point, but a trip to their brewery seems worth the doing.
