Tonight's beer: Southern Tier Pilsner
Grassy-floral bitterness to open, opposed by crackery-bready sweetness. Background impressions of pine and maybe citrus, caramel and maybe toast. Mostly-bitter all the way through and beyond a quickly dry finish.
Very light-bodied, with lots of carbonation. Powerfully drying, vanishingly clean. Cleansing and scrubbing and massively refreshing.
A delicious German-style Pilsner, convincingly true-to-style, from a brewer I like tons. Very intense for 5% ABV, more linear and straightforward than complex. Precisely balanced, nicely integrated, massively drinkable. A beautiful beer for a warm summer evening.
