Tonight's beer:
Opens with juicy citrus bitterness—orange an lime and grapefruit—with heavy threads of flowers, grass, and pine. Pale-bready sweetness around the middle, with layers of honey and caramel. Dries out quickly and smoothly through an easy finish.
Medium-bodied, well-carbonated; juicy and almost pulpy. No real chewiness, just a thin trace of resinous stickiness. Wraps up clean and cleansing, drying and refreshing.
A superbly tasty IPA, all kinds of pulpy-juicy citrus, nicely integrated into the rest of the beer. Complex and stupidly intense, something a lot like balanced, given the style. Magnificently drinkable. Every now and then I happen upon this beer when I'm traveling through the Southeast; it's always worth grabbing.
