Tonight's beer:
Opens very bitter—grass and flowers and musk, backed by pine and grapefruit-lemony citrus. Honey and pale bread emerge for a moment around the middle, then are subsumed by the bitter again as the beer transitions sharp;y to spiky-dry.
Maybe a little thicker than medium-bodied, decently carbonated; soft bready chewiness evolves to resinous-syrupy stickiness. Eventually drying and scrubbing, cleansing and refreshing.
A very tasty IPA, practically local—the brewery's just a couple hours away. Seriously intense and complex, thoroughly skewed toward the hops (appropriate for the style, that). Wonderfully well-integrated and awesomely drinkable. Delicious, and beautiful in the glass to boot.
