Hi-Wire Bed of Nails

Tonight's beer:

Hi-Wire Bed of Nails

Opens with a tight braid of chocolate and caramel on a bready foundation. toast around the middle, then rising earthy-peaty-grassy bitterness. Gradually and smoothly dry into a softly lingering finish.

A little thicker than medium-bodied, carbonation decent if maybe a little sparse. Some soft chewiness evolves to thick stickiness. Eventually drying and surprisingly refreshing.

This is a very tasty brown ale, distinctly English in style and character though it hails from Asheville, NC. Reasonably intense and pleasantly complex, superbly balanced and well-integrated. Gloriously drinkable. Smooth and graceful and supple; subtle enough to reward close attention. Delicious.
