Tonight's beer:
Opens with massive hops: flowers and citrus and melons and tropical fruits, harmonies of pine and grass and musk. pale bread emerges around the middle, with grace notes of honey and possibilities of crackers. Interesting candy-like impressions (the only comparison I can think of here is Sixpoint Hi-Res) just before the beer slams to bitter again and very dry.
Just on the light side of medium-bodied, with lots of scrubbing, vigorous carbonation. Cleansing and powerfully drying, massively refreshing. Just a hint of lingering citrussy pucker and resinous stickiness.
Wow. I had this a few months ago while visiting my in-laws, and it surprised and impressed me then. It did both again tonight. Startlingly intense and crazily complex, awfully close to balanced for the style, gloriously well-integrated and terrifyingly drinkable. It's worth the drive when we find gems like this.
