Boulevard Snow and Tell

Tonight's beer:

Boulevard Snow and Tell

Opens with a healthy dollop of bread and caramel, with threads of molasses and maple and toast. Vanilla arises into the middle, with counterpoints of peat and earth and smoke. Dried dark fruits and maybe a touch of baking spice around the edges. Dries out gradually but pretty thoroughly by the finish.

Medium-bodied, well-carbonated. Some soft chewiness becomes gentle stickiness. Slowly drying, gradually cleansing; eventually clean and nicely refreshing.

A delicious beer, from a brewery I really like and respect. Pretty spot-on for the style, clearly right about what the brewers intended. Intense and complex for the relatively low alcohol content; nicely balanced, well-integrated, astonishingly drinkable. Smooth and subtle and graceful. An impressive beer.
