Tonight's beer:
Dark chocolate up front, baked by caramel, bread, coffee, toast. Vanilla and molasses woven in. Earth and smoke and peat and ash arise toward the finish as the beer shuffles dryward.
Thick and soft and distinctly chewy. Nicely carbonated. Layers of stickiness, eventually gently drying. Wraps up smooth, and startlingly like refreshing.
A remarkably tasty Milk Stout, smooth and astonishingly drinkable. A bit straightforward and linear but bracingly intense. Niftily poised, graceful and supple and subtle. Worth paying close attention. Gently warming, perfect for a chilly January evening. A little big for the style, but Flying Dog pretty much nailed this, I think.
