Tonight's beer:
Opens with chocolate on top of dark bread, caramel and dried fruits right behind. Coffee lurks around the middle, with threads of earth and grass and peat. Slides smoothly toward dry through a moderately durable finish.
A bit thicker than medium-bodied, nicely carbonated but smooth and almost-oily-slick. Round and a bit chewy, sticky into a slow finish. Filling and immensely satisfying.
Surprisingly, a pretty traditional take on an oatmeal stout from a brewery I would think of first as a Belgian-style brewer (mostly). Maybe a bit fruity, but otherwise basically to-style. Intense as hell and surprisingly complex for the low ABV, nicely balanced ans well-integrated. Superbly drinkable. While I miss Adoration, this is a tasty as hell beer.
