Tonight's beer:
Opens searingly bitter: musk on top, then tropical fruits and melons and citrus, then flowers and pine and grass. Bready sweetness arises through the middle, with threads of honey and caramel lingering into a quick finish that turns abruptly to bitter again and imposingly dry.
Pretty much medium-bodied, with a decent amount of carbonation. Juicy-pulpy. A trace of chewiness evolves to resinous-syrupy stickiness. Eventually dry and drying, scrubbing and cleansing and scouring. Startlingly refreshing, with roughly zero alcohol presence.
A shockingly delicious Double IPA, laden with modern funky hops flavors, more balanced than I was expecting. Intense as hell, bogglingly complex, smooth and graceful and staggeringly drinkable; wonderfully well-integrated. Another big-time winner from 21st Amendment.
