Tonight's beer:
Massively bitter at the start: a fricking wall of citrus (grapefruit, backed by lemons, oranges, and limes) with broad ribbons of pine and flowers and grass. Bready sweetness around the middle, playing up some juicy sweetness from all the citrus. Bitter again at the finish as the beer caroms dryward.
A bit on the light side of medium-bodied, with a lot of bit bubbles, kinda scrubbing. Thin threads of resinous-syrupy stickiness, hints of sofr chewiness. Wraps up drying and refreshing.
A delicious Double IPA, spiked with extra citrussy yum. Intense as hell and very complex, something like balanced, considering; graceful and well-integrated. A nifty variation on Bitter Valentine, an already excellent beer.
