Tonight's beer:
Starts out with dark cherries, woven with white bread, hints of honey and caramel. Grass and pepper and maybe some baking spice in the distance. Quickly dry around the finish, with bitterness evolving toward bracing tartness.
Very light-bodied, caught in tension between ample scrubbing carbonation and almost-silky smoothness. A bit of soft chewiness becomes a smattering of stickiness. Drying and cleansing and powerfully refreshing.
A fruit beer that's open and honest about being a fruit beer. Absolutely loaded with (and dominated by) the cherries, but nicely integrated; pretty straightforward but pleasantly intense. Superbly drinkable. A pleasant find from a pretty local brewery.
