Tonight's beer:
Opens with citrus opposed by bright spice; flowers, grass, and pepper around the edges. Pale-bready sweetness through the middle, with a wisp of caramel and a smattering of juice. Re-emergent bitterness by the end as the beer wraps up mostly dry.
Light-bodied for a biggish beer, some decent loose carbonation. Pretty smooth, with a few lingering strands of stickiness; evolves to clean and cleansing, drying and refreshing. Very little alcohol presence—basically zero.
A very nice tripel—reminds me a lot of La Fin du Monde. Subtly spicy, smooth and subtle and sneaky-strong. Gracefully intense and complex, wonderfully drinkable and superbly well-integrated. My first beer from these folks, I think; I should see about finding more: They're pretty local to me, after all.
