Sixpoint Hi-Res

Tonight's beer:

Sixpoint Hi-Res

Liquid hop candy: musk and pine and flowers, layered with citrus (mainly grapefruit and lime) and melons and tropical fruits; bready-caramel sweetness through the middle, adequate for the beer to be shockingly well-balanced (considering style and all-a-that). Slides easily and smoothly to dry through the lingering finish.

Maybe a little thicker than medium-bodied, with a decent amount of prickly carbonation. Thick slabs of resinous-syrupy stickiness evolve to steeply dry. Basically no hint of the 10.5% ABV.

This is a powerfully tasty beer, absolutely laden with hop flavor, poised against almost candylike sweetness. Intense as hell and astonishingly complex, scrubbing and scouring and poised and graceful. Drinkable as hell, kinda giddy but subtle. A bit beer that needs to be respected and enjoyed.
