Tonight's beer:
Opens quite bitter: flowers an grass, hints of pepper and spice. Pale fruit right behind, then pale bread. Honey, caramel, and a dollop of dried pale fruit around the periphery. A brief flicker of funk. Wraps up quickly and thoroughly dry.
Surprisingly light-bodied, with lots of soda-like carbonation—scrubbing and cleansing. Thin wispy threads of resinous-syrupy stickiness, then wraps up drying ad clean and refreshing. Alcohol presence terrifyingly subdued or 8.5 % ABV.
This is a beer I like, like really a lot; and Boulevard is one of my very favorite breweries. Intense and complex as hell, stupendously well-balanced and integrated. Supple and graceful and amazingly drinkable. A wonderful beer for with food, to boot. Purely delicious.
