Peabody Heights Togi

Tonight's beer:

Peabody Heights Togi

A flicker of earthy-grassy bitterness, then thin bready sweetness. Toast and caramel along the edges, with a hint of flowers, maybe. Dries up quickly and directly and pretty thoroughly.

On the light side of medium-bodied; carbonation decent, tending a little toward scant. Clean and cleansing, wraps up drying.

The label describes this beer as "crushable." I'm not sure what that means, exactly, but there's not a lot here—an amber lager at 5.5% ABV should have more flavor than this. It's balanced but very subdued; more subtle than intense. Pretty drinkable, but unless there's a lawnmower or some such involved I'm not sure I see why one would bother. Not bad, but that's as much as I can say for it. Oh, and it's local-ish.
